Established over fifty years ago, CCR&MC is proud to be sponsored by the Culver City Human Services Department and equally proud to be a member of the Californa and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.

During our many years in existence, we have promoted education, knowledge and skills development in the earth sciences and lapidary arts. Our interests include mineralogy, cutting, polishing, casting, metalsmithing, and field collecting for rocks, minerals and fossils. We are the only affiliated CFMS club with this wide range of activities in Culver City, Los Angeles and LA's West Side.

We are an active club, this is some of what we do:

• offer interesting and varied monthly programs with presentations and speakers with expertise in their field

• operate a fully equipped lapidary shop for use by members

• publish "The Nugget," an informative and educational monthly bulletin

• sponsor the popular Fiesta of Gems, Rock and Mineral Show each summer - free of charge to everyone

• organize field trips to local collecting areas

• donate rock, mineral and fossil specimen kits to local schools

• maintain an extensive free library of books, magazines and video tapes for our members

• enjoy picnics and holiday parties for the members
