Typical meetings start with a business session, followed
by a coffee/social break, and then our evening's speaker. Some of our
recent topics have included:
- Electroforming
- Minerals of the British Museum
- Malachite & Azurites of Bisbee
- Carving Gem Materials
- Rockhounding in WY, OR & UT
- Gemstone Identification
Twice each year we have a silent auction of minerals and hobby-related equipment. Also, each summer we host a picnic for all members, usually in conjunction with the Santa Monica club.
Meetings are held in the Multi-Purpose Room in the Veterans Building at 4117 Overland Avenue. Entrance is at the rear, off the park.
The Club maintains an extensive
library of books and videotapes which are available for loan to members during
each meeting.
