Learn to fit, solder, attach a bezel to a backplate, and then solder it onto a ring you make. Sounds easy? Yes, when you have made a lot of them, but until then, you will learn to:
- Decide what bezel wire to use.
- Measure the correct length for the stone. Cut and file the wire. Close the wire, file as needed
- Solder the wire. Refit the stone.
- Make the bezel flush with the backplate. Use sandpaper to make needed adjustments
- Solder bezel to backplate.
- Cut or saw excess silver from the backplate. File to finish the bezel
- Make a finger ring (measure wire, cut, file, solder)
- Solder bezel to ring, polish ring with bezel, insert stone. Fasten the stone in the bezel, using a bezel rocker and burnisher.
By the end of the session, you will have acquired a new skill set that you can apply in your future silversmithing.
